What is mindfulness?(as stated in mindful.org)
Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.
While mindfulness is something we all naturally possess, it’s more readily available to us when we practice on a daily basis.
5 ways to achieve mindfulness daily
- Start your morning right
- Say a gratitude prayer, be present in your activities whether its in the shower/ making your morning cup of coffee.
- Breath, focus on your breath daily embrace a good inhalation and exhalation.
- Be present in your interaction. Mono task and give your full attention.
- Go for a walk in nature if possible, just being in nature in motion creates a sense of wellbeing and now its said to be increasing good microbiomes.
- Be mindful while eating, avoid distractions- no screen time, just enjoy your food and healthy conversation time with family.
